“CADERNO DO EMPREENDEDOR” PROJECT

The idea of a notebook for entrepreneurs was presented in early 2018 by Vasco Nogueira, Visual Thinker, to Vítor Freitas, Marketing Manager. The concept was to create a physical product, in notebook format, containing useful tools to support entrepreneurs in the development of their ideas and projects.

Later, in 2019, these two friends discussed the idea again. At that time, Vítor Freitas, a student of the Master’s in Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship – MIETE, at FEUP/FEP, felt the need for a solution that could support academic entrepreneurship projects. From that moment on, they decided to move forward with the development of a product aimed at students of entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as entrepreneurs themselves.

The “Caderno do Empreendedor” project therefore effectively began in 2019 with Vasco Nogueira and Vítor Freitas. Later, designer Francisco Costa joined the team at their invitation, creating a multidisciplinary team that, for some time, worked in an interdisciplinary dynamic, with the main focus on developing the “Caderno do Empreendedor” project. At that stage, all team members were going through a professional transition period.

The project was developed in several locations, including CEC — Centro Empresarial da Circunvalação, Co-Work WOW, PBS — Porto Business School, FEUP — Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, and also in the team members’ own homes.

The “Caderno do Empreendedor” is a project whose development and production were carried out exclusively with the founders’ own capital. For this reason, it can be considered a bootstrap project, meaning a business built from scratch with minimal use of external capital.

The physical part of the project was completed in the last quarter of 2022, and the physical version of the “Caderno do Empreendedor” was launched in December 2022.
